Introduction to the Mentor-Protégé Program for Industry
Under the Mentor-Protege Program, approved mentor firms enter into formal mentor-protégé agreements with eligible protégé firms, through which the mentor provides developmental assistance designed to enhance the protégé’s capabilities as both a prime contractor and a subcontractor. That assistance can take many forms — technical guidance, management support, temporary use of facilities or equipment, and other resources intended to help the small business grow its footprint in the defense industrial base.
